Manuel Weil trio

Manuel Weil is an argentinian jazz drummer and composer, one of the most outstanding and innovative young musicians of Argentina’s current jazz scene, now touring for the first time in Europe.
Graduated from Manuel De Falla Music Conservatory in Buenos Aires, with his first album as leader, “Simplificar” (2023) recently released, and with many other albums as sideman or collaborator, Weil has been a very active participant of the Argentine jazz and improvised music scene.
Since 2024, he is currently living in Madrid, Spain.
As an instrumentalist, he finds his influences in drummers such as Brian Blade, Jorge Rossy, Bill Stewart, Elvin Jones, Roy Haynes, among others, he developed a very personal approach including some blending with elements of traditional argentine music, rock and funk/soul.
His original compositions are included within the wide margins of the contemporary jazz, arising from the need to explore the hybridization of various textures and genres, placing them in new compositional, timbral, rhythmic and collective interaction horizons, embracing a jazz sound with tinges from rock and traditional Argentine music.
During the Fall of the current year he will touring with his group in The Netherlands.
